China first staged a Grand Prix in 2004, and there have only been two multiple winners on the fast but demanding Shanghai International Circuit: Lewis Hamilton and last year's winner Fernando Alonso, who overtook pole-sitter Hamilton early on in a race dominated by tyre strategy.
