The Sound of Style: 1980-1990, plus David Byrne

Lauren Laverne continues to celebrate the Sound of Style season, focusing on the 1980s. Plus she chats to Talking Heads founder David Byrne.

We celebrate The Sound of Style season, a collaboration between 蜜芽传媒 Four and 6 Music looking at the love affair and inextricably linked relationship between fashion and music since the 1960s.

Episode three of 蜜芽传媒 Four's three-part series, Oh You Pretty Things, airs tonight at 9pm. It is narrated by Lauren Laverne and each episode is sound-tracked by a 6 Music presenter, bringing their music expertise to showcase the social history, sounds and looks of the period. Steve Lamacq has sound-tracked tonight's episode, which looks at the 1980s. Across the day, 6 Music shows will be styling their music and chat around the 80s, playing the tracks Lamacq has selected - plus other gems from that decade - and hearing from Lamacq about his music choices.

On each Wednesday the series airs, 6 Music will be playing music across the shows reflecting the years covered in that evening's programme, so today will be styling their music and chat around the 1980s. And if all that wasn't enough, style-icon and Talking Heads founder David Byrne will be popping in for a chat all about his immersive new play with Fatboy Slim called 'Here Lies Love'.
