In the first of three concerts which explore Nielsen's concertos, the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Philharmonic is joined by Sabine Meyer for his conflict-driven Clarinet Concerto. Sibelius's tender and melancholy Rakastava at the start of the concert contrasts with Shostakovich's gripping eye-witness account of one of the most turbulent eras in modern history - his monumental Fourth Symphony.
