Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon
Twice daily the waters of the Bristol Channel wash in and out over the sands of Swansea Bay.
Now a company wants to create a giant lagoon to harness the power of those tides to create renewable electricity, potentially powering 155,000 homes for generations to come.
If the tidal lagoon gets the go-ahead next year the £1 billion scheme could be up and running by the end of 2018.Â
But there are concerns that this world-first could change the face of Swansea Bay and have an adverse impact on local wildlife.Â
Eye on Wales investigates claim and counter-claim for the lagoon planned for these muddy waters and asks which way the tide of opinion is running in Swansea Bay.
Presented by Charlotte Dubenskij.
