Semi-final 1, 2014

Episode 10 of 13

Paul Gambaccini hosts the wide-ranging music quiz with three semi-finalists from the London area and Derbyshire. From 2014.

Paul Gambaccini is back in the question master's chair, as the 2014 season of the annual music quiz reaches the semi-final stage.

Three heats winners from earlier in the series, return to the Radio Theatre to compete for a coveted place in the Counterpoint Final:

Robert Charlesworth from London
Ian Clark from East London
Richard Ely from Derbyshire

The competition may get stiffer but the rules don't change: and each of the semi-finalists will have to choose a special musical topic on which to answer individual questions, with no prior warning of what the subjects are going to be. Topics this week include 'Bob Dylan covered', the Royal Opera and English National Opera and the composer Claude Debussy.
