It’s been one of the worst summers on record. ÌýAnd on top of that, prices for lamb and for milk worryingly low. ÌýSo at a time when churches and chapels up and down the land are celebrating harvest festival and thanksgiving, what exactly have Welsh farmers got to thank God for?
Mary Stallard visits the sheep market at Devil’s Bridge, and talks to farmers in Ceredigion and in Bala about their faith, and about farming. How do farmers maintain faith in both their traditional way of life, and in Christianity? And could it be that the farming life has lessons for the mass of the population who live in towns and cities?
The programme includes interviews with former FUW president Emyr Jones (pictured),Ìýhill farmer Delyth Morris-Jones, Rev Canon Eileen Davies and Revd Jan Gould.
