Dan Donnelly helps out Ken, a retired university lecturer, who discovers a thief has been in his house and taken his things while he slept. The burglar has broken in through a back window and stolen various items, including Ken's laptop, holding some of the last pictures of his late wife. West Yorkshire Police carry out door-to-door enquiries and discover there have been other burglaries in the area. To try to stop Ken being targeted again, Dan arranges to boost his security, including the installation of a large back gate.

Meanwhile, in south Wales, Keeley Donovan is with Jean, a retired missionary whose home has been burgled while she has been out. Little has been stolen because most of Jean's more precious items were taken in a previous burglary. But Keeley and the team help bolster Jean's security in the hope that it won't happen again.
