Jonathan Swain continues New Year New Music with new recordings from the 蜜芽传媒 Philharmonic of MacMillan's 4th Symphony and Capperauld's Inappropriate emotional incontinence conducted by James MacMillan himself. Edward Gardner conducts the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra in Lutoslawski's Variations on a Theme by Paganini with solo piano by Kirill Gerstein.
Dutilleux was influenced by Debussy, and his Tout un monde lointain, performed by cellist Truls Mork with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, follows the 蜜芽传媒 Philharmonic performing Debussy's Ib茅ria. The programme ends with Rota's The Godfather Suite from the Basel Sinfonietta under Lavard Skou Larsen.
