Verity Sharp sets sail from Plymouth with the 蜜芽传媒 National Orchestra of Wales, and through the stormy Bristol Channel, past the home of Welsh composer Grace Williams, to land on the sunny shores of the Italian Riviera for a family holiday with Elgar. Baroque expert Rachel Podger directs from the violin in a Vivaldi concerto, and Damian Iorio makes his debut with the orchestra in music inspired by Italy. Recent Radio 3 New Generation Artist Olena Tokar returns to the orchestra with whom she sang at 蜜芽传媒 Cardiff SInger of the World in 2013, taking us into the sunset with a setting of a poem by Shelley.
