Stuart presents the show solo today, joined by resident musicologist Sid Griffin. Sid - of Looking for Lewis and Clark/The Long Ryders' fame - uses his infectiously enthusiastic voice skills to share his love of pioneering rock pop group The Bangles. Formed in LA in 1981 by Susannah Hoffs and sisters Vicki and Debbi Peterson, they had hits such as Manic Monday, Walk Like an Egyptian, Eternal Flame and a Hazy Shade of Winter. They reformed in 1998 to record a film for the Austin Powers film. Sid's here to tell us more about the band from the scene in LA at the time, around a recent compilation with tracks selected by members of the band themselves.
