Stained Glass, Statues and Services

This week, Anne Marie was exploring the Lecale District of County Down, just outside Ardglass with Duane Fitzsimons, chatting about his vast knowledge of his place, and his new book - Under the Shade of our Ladys Sweet Image.
The legend of Finvola

There is an unmissable bronze statue on the Main Street in Dungiven, called Finvola. But who is she? And why Dungiven? This week, Anne Marie met storyteller Liz Weir who explained about Finvolas past, and the local legend of love, tragedy and fear.
Yarns from The Ards

Also on the map this week was the townland of Ballyhay, near Donaghadee in County Down. Hugh Robinson knows all about this place, because it's his home place, and the setting for his latest book Yarns from the Ards.
