Wednesday - American Ensembles and Repertoire

John Shea with music from Europe and the Americas including Stucky and Prokofiev with the Minnesota Orchestra, then Gershwin, Revueltas and Marquez with the Swiss Romande orchestra.

John Shea with music performed by two orchestras mixing European repertoire with music from North and South America. The Minnesota Orchestra, under its Music Director, Osmo Vanska, offer Rhapsodies by Steven Stucky, followed by Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No.1 with Pekka Kuusisto as soloist, then Rautavaara's Melancholy from his Cantus Articus. The afternoon continues with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, under the Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra, in music from the Americas - Gershwin's Cuban Overture, followed by Revueltas's ³§±ð²Ô²õ±ð³¾²¹²âá and, to finish, Arturo ²Ñá°ù±ç³Ü±ð³ú's Danzón No. 2.
