The council says it's pressing the government to give Derry special economic status which could lead to millions of pounds of investment.
The council here has revealed that it's in talks with the government to try to secure a special economic status for Derry, which officials hope could create thousands of jobs, lead to millions of pounds of investment and boost the expansion of Magee. The so-called "city deal" would give the council extra powers to spend public money.
The inquest into the Buncrana pier tragedy will continue today. Yesterday it emerged that the driver of the vehicle Sean McGrotty was three times the legal drink drive limit.
