The Purcell School Big Band join the Quintet for the Culloden Moor Suite which Bobby Wellins composed, inspired after reading John Prebble’s vivid account of the last pitched battle on British soil. The Suite conjures up the fervour, anticipation, horror and ultimately the lamentable failure of a lost cause paid for in blood.
