The Rev Richard Coles introduces a performance of Brahms's tender and consoling A German Requiem, inspired by the death of the composer's mother. Richard Farnes conducts the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, with soloists Golda Schultz, making her Prom debut, and Johan Reuter. The evening starts by marking Thea Musgrave's 90th birthday with her dramatic and mysterious single-movement piece Phoenix Rising.
