Andrew McGregor and Lucy Parham introduce performances from three of the ten featured pianists in the semi-finals of the 2018 Leeds International Piano Competition, recorded in the Great Hall of Leeds University.
Today we hear from the 23 year old Chinese pianist Xinyuan Wang, who performs music by Bach, Rachmaninov and Kurtag; the Croatian pianist Aljosa Jurinic plays a selection of Studies from Chopin's Opus 25; and 25 year old Pavel Zemen from the Czech Republic performs music by Rachmaninov , Janacek and Dvorak.
