Body positive campaigner and comedian Sofie Hagen live from the Edinburgh Fringe and meet the man who has walked thousands of miles collecting stories about motherhood.
Comedian Sofie Hagen won the coveted 'Best Newcomer' prize at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2015. This year she's back with a new show 'The Bumswing' and joins us live from the Fringe to talk about the show, her many podcasts and how she's reclaiming the word 'fat'.
Plus Reverend Kate Bottley is joined by author and storyteller Matt Hopwood. Since 2012 Matt has walked thousands of miles speaking to people in towns and countryside, sharing their stories of love on his platform ‘AHumanLoveStory.com’. For his latest project he explored motherhood and has released a collection of powerful stories in his book ‘Mother'. His stories are from people of different backgrounds and genders, about mothers and by mothers, whether biological or not.
And ahead of International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition on 23 August 2019, Kate will speaks to a Charity Champion who is working to stop modern slavery. After spending time with International Justice Mission in Ghana and meeting children who have been rescued from slavery, Michelle Hayes is pioneering a challenge to raise the equivalent of 100 Rescue operations across the Harrogate postcode area.
Producer: Hilary Robinson and Rebecca Maxted
