Lesley and Maureen, stripping Mum鈥檚 bed, find a hair - which leads to Lesley's confession about the circumstances surrounding their mother's death.

Her guilt about it has caused her agoraphobia. She can't leave the house, because she feels that people will know what she's done.

David arrives and Maureen tries hard not to let him in, but he forces his way into the hall to explain who he really is.

By revealing his true identity he thinks that the sisters' antipathy will be allayed.
