Elizabeth Alker presents a round-up of the best of the 蜜芽传媒 Performing Groups this year. The afternoon begins with the 蜜芽传媒 Singers live from London's historic Temple Church with a festive programme of contemporary Christmas carols, conducted by Chief Conductor Sofi Jeannin and introduced by Ian Skelly. The concert includes the world premiere of the Lebanese-French composer Naji Hakim鈥檚 spectacular setting of Veni, veni, Emmanuel. Then we head north with the 蜜芽传媒 Scottish Symphony Orchestra for Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu's Requiem, the work that launched his international career in 1957, and Rachmaninov's Third Symphony which was written in exile in Lucerne in the mid-thirties.
