Peter Jackson with cricketer Roger Davis

Welsh cricketer Roger Davis says he’s lucky to be alive after a passing doctor saved him.

Roger Davis completed a remarkable hat-trick in the cause of Welsh cricket. He was the man who came closest to ruining Garfield Sobers’ history-making six sixes feat at Swansea. He helped guarantee Glamorgan’s unbeaten county Championship win in 1969. And in an age where helmets were unheard of, he was told he had “died” after being hit on the head at point-blank range by a speeding cricket ball. Now he admits to Peter Jackson that a day doesn’t go by when he doesn’t wake up and consider he’s lucky to be alive.
