The experimental vocalist and producer talks about her delicate and fantastical new album, Phoenix: Flames Are Dew Upon My Skin. A multi-instrumentalist based in New York, Eartheater combines luscious orchestral arrangements, soaring vocal gymnastics and melancholic acoustic guitar that blurs the lines between ambient, folk and experimental pop. The album sets the scene to an epic world exploring war, pain and rebirth marked with Eartheater’s unique brand of femininity and unabashed sexiness.

Ariel Pink’s eccentric lo-fi indie rock record The Doldrums is the featured album. The American singer-songwriter made his second album alone at home in it’s in entirety whilst studying at art school in California during 2000. Originally self-released on a handmade CD-rom and sold from a kiosk as part of an installation for his degree show, the album blends warped melodic pop and delayed vocals that are steeped in equal amounts of eeriness and beauty.

Also on the show, maximalist avant pop, contemporary jazz piano and lo-fo radiophonic synths inspired by the paranormal.
