Nels Hylton is in for Dan with rock, metal, hardcore and everything in between.

Nels Hylton sits in for Daniel P Carter as part of Radio 1's Christmas Presenters for 2020 - a week of new presenting talent taking over the schedule.

London-based Nels is the first black broadcaster to present the Radio 1 Rock Show.

It鈥檚 鈥渁 show I鈥檝e loved listening to for years,鈥� he says. 鈥淭he first CD I ever bought myself was 鈥楬ybrid Theory鈥� by Linkin Park.鈥� The 24-year-old has been involved in radio since the age of 14, presenting in community radio for Transmission Roundhouse and then student radio at the University of Portsmouth. He鈥檚 a massive NFL fan, an indoor rock climber and an avid vinyl collector.

Nels: 鈥淚t's really humbling to be selected as part of Radio 1's Christmas lineup, even more so to be the first black broadcaster to present the Radio 1 Rock Show. I can't wait to host the show and prove that rock music is for everybody.鈥�
