Jennifer Lucy Allan shines a light on music inspired by heavy weather, from field recordings in Oregon to guitarist Derek Bailey鈥檚 raindance improvisations.

Jennifer Lucy Allan shares music inspired by heavy weather, from noise musician Daniel Menche's recordings of stormy skies in Oregon, to experimental guitarist Derek Bailey鈥檚 accompaniment to a raindance. There鈥檒l also be jazz pieces reflecting on clouds from South Africa鈥檚 Letta Mbulu, collaged weather reports from composer Ron Geesin, and soundscape compositions from Hildegard Westerkamp on the west coast of British Columbia.

Elsewhere there鈥檚 new releases from pedal steel guitarist Susan Alcorn and her quintet and Manchester-based sound artist Kelly Jayne Jones.
