Organist and conductor Wayne Marshall opens up a colourful selection of music from the inside - revealing familiar and unfamiliar works in a new light.

Organist and conductor Wayne Marshall begins today鈥檚 programme with pieces inspired by southern Europe. There鈥檚 a Portuguese organ, Respighi depicting Rome, piano music inspired by Bizet鈥檚 Carmen, and Ravel revealing his Spanish voice. Wayne then explores several elements of performance which are important to him, including finding humour, taking risks, and not being afraid of playing a wrong note.

Wayne also plays a recording of an organ he thinks is the best in the world. And he wonders how he would have discovered jazz, if his practising hadn鈥檛 been interrupted by a party...
