National Orchestra of France

Juraj Val膷uha conducts the National Orchestra of France in Robert Schumann's exultant Second Symphony and, with soprano Miah Persson, a sumptuous selection of Strauss songs.

Recorded last September, conductor Juraj Val膷uha began the opening concert of Radio France's Orchestre National de France season with a sumptuous selection of Strauss songs sung by internationally renowned Swedish soprano Miah Persson, and finished it with Schumann's Symphony No. 2. This life-affirming, positive work, including a wonderful slow movement and exultant finale, marked a temporary return to health for Schumann after a major mental breakdown.
