Julien Temple is a multi-award winning film director with a special interest in punk and cult music of the UK. He is probably best known for immortalising some of the UK's most-loved bands and musicians on screen including the Sex Pistols, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones and Janet Jackson.
Miranda Sawyer speaks to him about his film and video work from writing The Great Rock N Roll Swindle with Malcolm Mclaren, the pressure of directing Absolute Beginners and his subsequent relocation to the US after its lack of commercial success, making videos for Janet Jackson and The Rolling Stones, being commissioned to make films about Glastonbury Festival by Michael Eavis and his recent documentary A Crock Of Gold, about The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan
