Verdi's Otello from the New York Met, starring Aleksandrs Antonenko and Sonya Yoncheva as the Moorish general Otello and his wife Desdemona, with 沤eljko Lu膷i膰 as the jealous Iago who destroys them both. Seen by many as the greatest of all Italian tragic operas, Otello is based on Shakespeare's great play of deception and betrayal, and includes some of Verdi's most intense and dramatic music, with huge importance given to the role of the orchestra - conducted by Yannick N茅zet-S茅guin in this performance from October 2015.
