ѿý Proms 2021: The ѿý Singers with Sofi Jeannin

Another chance to hear The ѿý Singers and Sofi Jeannin performing the world premiere of Shiva Feshareki's Aetherworld, based on the motet Qui habitat by Josquin des Prez.

Penny Gore introduces another chance to hear The ѿý Singers and Sofi Jeannin performing the world premiere of Shiva Feshareki's 'Aetherworld' - a piece based on the motet 'Qui habitat' by Josquin des Prez.

Experimental composer and turntablist Shiva Feshareki joins Sofi Jeannin and the ѿý Singers for a choral playlist colliding the Renaissance with the present day. Works by Hildegard of Bingen, Byrd and Josquin are woven into a continuous musical sequence with pieces by Stravinsky, Feshareki, Nico Muhly and Roderick Williams. Old and new, acoustic and electronic, sacred and secular come together in this musical kaleidoscope.

The Prom is presented by Hannah French from the Royal Albert Hall in London.
