The gift to sing: 60 years of Let the Peoples Sing
Sofi Jeannin and the ѿý Singers perform a programme celebrating the joy of singing to mark the sixtieth anniversary of the first EBU competition for choirs, Let the Peoples Sing.
Sixty years after the first Let the Peoples Sing competition for amateur choirs took place in London, the ѿý Singers and Chief conductor Sofi Jeannin present a concert of choral and organ music celebrating the joy of singing on St Cecilia Day – Patron Saint of Music and Musicians. Included in the programme is the ѿý and EBU commission by LTPS juror and ѿý Singers Principal Guest Conductor, Bob Chilcott, whose setting of The Gift to Sing by James Weldon Johnson is a gift to choirs everywhere, starting to make music again after the events of the last 18 months.
