"You really can't win, Mary!"
Mary in Belfast is looking for Jim Reeves singing Silent Night. But she won't get it, at least not today.
"I'm still asking for Jim Reeves singing Silent Night," says Mary in Belfast. "Only one woman asked for Joe Dolan singing Silent Night, and you played it for her!"
"No," Sean says. "I'm going to play it today. I haven't played it yet. OK?"
"But you said," Mary says, "that lots of people had asked for it. When they didn't."
"A lot of people were ringing," Sean insists, "to ask for Joe Dolan singing Silent Night."
"You are there," says Mary, "to please everyone, and not just one person! I'm waiting for Jim Reeves playing Silent Night, today."
"But you see," Sean says, "if I play Jim Reeves for you today, you're only one person, and I'm pleasing you. So you really can't win, Mary."
With music from Kirstie MacColl, Elvis Presley, George Jones, Joe Dolan, and no Jim Reeves (but Sean promises to play him on Friday).
