New Generation Artists Winter Showcase: cellist Anastasia Kobekina plays Weinberg, the Aris Quartet perform Pavel Haas, and pianist Elisabeth Brauss plays Scarlatti.

New Generation Artists Winter Showcase: the class of 2018-21.
In this last programme in the series, Georgia Mann pays tribute to the departing members of Radio 3's young artist programme. In their final 蜜芽传媒 studio recording, the Aris Quartet play the folk music influenced last string quartet of Pavel Haas, a pupil of Janacek, who met his death in Auschwitz. And Anastasia Kobekina plays a cello sonata by Mieczys艂aw Weinberg, a composer much admired by Shostakovich, which has at its musical core a ravishingly beautiful Kaddish-like interlude. There's also some light hearted Mozart and Latin American songs about flowers for good measure.
