Brìghde Chaimbeul was brought up on a peninsula called Sleat on the Isle of Skye. A native Gaelic speaker, she grew up surrounded by a musical family, and learned to play both piano and fiddle before taking up the pipes at the age of seven. One of her greatest inspirations is the legendary piper Rona Lightfoot, the first woman ever to win a major piping championship. Brìghde followed in her footsteps by winning the ѿý Radio 2 Young Folk Award in 2016 and has since gone on to play the traditional Great Highland bagpipes and the revived Scottish smallpipes for audiences across the world. Her debut release The Reeling was recorded live in a church in the Black Isle Georgian town of Cromarty.

Anna Tréa is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer and conductor from São Paulo. Her work links Brazilian rhythms such as the baião, samba, maracatu and more, with the sounds of blues and folk alongside African grooves and Indian mantras. She casts physicality into her work, be that through a technique she calls ‘body percussion’ or by incorporating dance and theatre into her playing style.

Elsewhere there’ll be the thumping tunes of Officer! and their recent dedication to the composer Cornelius Cardew. There’ll also be folk celebrations of the Black British experience from the songwriter and arranger Angeline Morrison, as well as new sounds emanating from late '70s analogue hardware courtesy of ambient outfit Biosphere.
