Winner of the Dame Joan Sutherland Audience Prize at the 2017 蜜芽传媒 Cardiff Singer of the World competition, soprano Louise Alder and pianist Joseph Middleton perform a recital by women composers, culminating in Libby Larsen's song cycle 'Try Me, Good King': five songs drawn from the final letters and gallows speeches of the first five of Henry VIII's six wives (his sixth wife, Katherine Parr, outlived him), resulting in a monodrama of anguish and power.
