Berginald Rash opens up a selection of classical music from a clarinettist鈥檚 point of view - revealing familiar and unfamiliar works in a new light.
Clarinettist Berginald Rash shares music which, for him, conjures up vivid images including the red clay of the Mississippi Delta and the constellations of the night sky.
He showcases several vocalists whose expertise surprises him, including Natalie Dessay鈥檚 sky-high singing, the burnished quality of Renee Fleming鈥檚 voice, and Daryl Coley鈥檚 ability to sing an immensely long phrase without taking a breath. And Berginald admires fellow clarinettist Mariam Adam鈥檚 skill at tackling virtuosic extended techniques and cadenzas.
