Step into Arlo鈥檚 inner world for an hour of music and musings on creativity, comfort and inspiration. She鈥檚 called it Dream Fuel - a scrapbook in sound of her favourite tracks, poems, personal voice notes, field recordings and special guests.

In this episode, Arlo thinks back to what it was like to be 15, playing songs from Aldous Harding, Sampha and Jay-Z. She is also joined by one of her biggest influences, the writer Zadie Smith. Arlo鈥檚 debut album Collapsed in Sunbeams was named after a quote from Zadie鈥檚 book On Beauty, and Arlo reads out that very special passage for the first time since making the album. Zadie and Arlo talk about the differences between writing songs and writing novels, reflect on the overwhelming power of music and swap songs that they love, including Radiohead, Prince and Tracy Chapman.

Arlo Parks is a London-born singer-songwriter and poet, who came onto the music scene back in 2019. Her debut album, Collapsed in Sunbeams, won the 2021 Mercury Prize, and in the same year she won Best New Artist at the Brit Awards.
