Composer Sally Beamish chooses works by Sergei Rachmaninov, Malcolm Arnold and Bohuslav Martinů.
Composer Sally Beamish curates a special edition of the In Tune Mixtape featuring music that has inspired her throughout her career, including works by Sergei Rachmaninov, Malcolm Arnold and Bohuslav Martinů. We'll also hear a special song written by Sally's daughter, Stephanie Irvine, as a wedding gift, a classic pop song by the Chordettes chosen for Sally's grandson, and a rollicking slice of Scottish folk music from Chris Stout and Catriona McKay.
Sally Beamish's piece 'Hive' receives its world premiere at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Proms on 21st July, performed by harpist Catrin Finch. You can hear it live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 3 and catch up on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sounds.
