The contest at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton is the opening match of the second season of The Hundred, in which each team faces 100 balls per innings.

Southern Brave were crowned the inaugural men鈥檚 champions last summer, defeating Birmingham Phoenix by 32 runs in the final at Lord鈥檚. They are captained by James Vince, who was part of the England squad that won the World Cup in 2019. Welsh Fire, meanwhile, will be looking for an improvement on their 2021 showing, in which they only won three of their eight matches.
