Isa Guha and JJ Chalmers introduce highlights from the penultimate day in Birmingham, with no less than 44 gold medals up for grabs.

Two of cycling’s greats, Mark Cavendish and Geraint Thomas, were in Warwick for a high-class men’s road race, while on the athletics track, Scotland’s Olympic medalist Laura Muir was going for gold in the women’s 1500m, and Max Burgin was hoping to shock Kenya’s Olympic champion Emmanuel Korir in the men’s 800m.

There were high hopes of success for the home nations in the diving, with the men’s 10m platform and women’s 3m springboard medals decided, and among many team sports finals today, the first women’s T20 cricket champions were crowned.
