Rock legend Brian Johnson - frontman with AC/DC - picks his Tracks Of My Years all this week.
Durham-born Brian, founding member of the rock band Geordie, found early success with hit singles including 'All Because of You' and 'Can You Do It' before the band split in the late 70s.
After the tragic death of AC/DC’s front man Bon Scott in 1980, Brian became the group's lead singer. He saw huge success with the hit album ‘Back in Black’ - which became the biggest selling rock album of all time, selling 50 million copies worldwide - and triggered a years-long worldwide tour. Other albums include ‘For Those About to Rock’ and ‘The Razor's Edge’, which spawned hits ‘Are You Ready’, ‘Thunderstruck’ and ‘Moneytalks’.
Brian and the rest of the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
In 2016, Brian was forced to quit AC/DC after being diagnosed with hearing loss, only to make a triumphant return to the band he loved with the release of 2020ʼs smash hit album 'Power Up'.
As well as music, Brian is also a car enthusiast and author of two books about cars, 'Rockers and Rollers' and 'Cars That Rock'.
Now, the iconic frontman of AC/DC shares his memoir packed with outrageous stories in his new book called ‘The Lives of Brian’ - sharing his journey from a County Durham choir boy to globally adored rock god.
Brian’s first two choices come from Little Richard and Steppenwolf.
Plus Ken's got the week's first edition of PopMaster and your dedications with today's love song. There's also the brand new record and album of the week. If you want to contact the show, just email ken.bruce@bbc.co.uk.
