It's St. Andrew's Day, so Mark chats to Scottish legend Aly Bain and US guitarist Jerry Douglas about 20 years of the Transatlantic Sessions. Plus ²Ñà ²Ô°ù²¹²Ô's Gary Innes.
On St. Andrew's Day, Mark speaks to the great Scottish fiddle player Aly Bain and US lap steel legend Jerry Douglas about their famous Transatlantic Sessions project. For 20 years, the series has combined the best roots musicians from both sides of the Atlantic.
A Transatlantic Sessions tour in February 2023 will feature special guests Martha Wainwright, Liam Ó Maonlai, Karen Matheson and Amythyst Kiah.
Mark also speaks to Gary Innes of ²Ñà ²Ô°ù²¹²Ô about his 'Hoolie in the Hydro'. Taking place on 17 December in Glasgow's Hydro arena, it could be the world's largest ever ceilidh and traditional music party.
Plus a blend of new and classic folk music from Scotland.
