Filled with portent of war, Ralph Vaughan Williams's Symphony no.4 packs a colossal punch. There's also a coronation overture by his pupil, Elizabeth Maconchy, a Poulenc masterpiece premiered by the forebears of today's 蜜芽传媒 Singers and Shostakovich's delightful Piano Concerto no.2
