£600 payments 'on the way'

Households in Northern Ireland will finally begin receiving the £600 government energy payments from this month.

The process of paying the long-awaited £600 government energy payments to households in Northern Ireland has begun. Households will receive their payments in different ways, depending on how they pay for domestic electricity. For direct debit customers, the energy firm they are signed up to from yesterday will be tasked with distributing £600 directly into their bank accounts. Electricity customers who pay their bills on a quarterly basis or via a keypad or pre-payment meter will receive vouchers in the post, rather than having the £600 credited to their bank accounts.
