The Cranberries debut album turns 30!
Johnnie pays tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Gary Rossington and marks the 30th anniversary of the debut album from The Cranberries.
Thirty years ago, The Cranberries released a rock album the likes of which had never been heard before. Part voice of an angel, part heavy riffs, with stellar songwriting and an ethereal magic which captured music fans all over the world, Everybody Else is Doing it So Why Can't We? was a landmark release for so many reasons. It went to number one and has now sold well over six million copies. Lead singer Dolores O'Riordan sadly died in 2018, but Johnnie will mark the 30th anniversary of the album's debut for This Week in Rock.
Elsewhere, it's International Women's Day this week, so expect a heavy dose of female-led rock liberally sprinkled throughout the show.
American singer songwriter Willie Nile is touring the UK in April - he's choosing his Rock God.
