Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt reveals his own Rock God, plus a number one for ²Ñ´Ç³Ùö°ù³ó±ð²¹»å features on This Week in Rock.
In 1990, rock fans could barely escape from the tender ballad that is More Than Words. Who can forget the acoustic guitar intro and those long, flowing locks of Extreme's Gary Cherone and guitarist Nuno Bettencourt?
The Boston band had way more about them than just one ballad, but that became their calling card. After the runaway success of the Pornografitti album and near constant touring, the latter part of the decade wasn't so great for them, and things fell apart. Gary went off to sing for Van Halen and Nuno carved himself an enviable solo career playing guitar for the likes of Janet Jackson and Paul McCartney before, in 2009, becoming Rhianna's tour guitarist.
This month, they've returned after a 15-year hiatus, with a new album called 6 and a UK tour booked for November this year.
Nuno has a reputation for some serious guitar wizardry, so we're guessing he's delved deep into his own inspiration to choose this week's Rock God.
Elsewhere, Johnnie's got a bit of Lemmy for This Week in Rock and there are new releases from The Struts and Dolly Parton.
