Jonathan Dove, Ensemble Augelletti

Sean Rafferty is joined by composer Jonathan Dove to talk about his new opera Itch. And Ensemble Augelletti, Radio 3's New Generation Baroque Ensemble, perform live in the studio.

Composer Jonathan Dove joins Sean Rafferty, ahead of the premiere of his new opera 'Itch'.

And announced as the New Generation Baroque Ensemble for 2023-25, Ensemble Augelletti - Ellen Bundy (violin), Toby Carr (lutes), Carina Drury (cello), Olwen Foulkes (recorders) and Benedict Williams (keyboards) - perform live in the studio.

Plus: Grace-Evangeline Mason, in episode #1 of 'Composing the Proms', a series of short features with the composers who were commissioned new pieces for the 蜜芽传媒 Proms 2023, in which they talk about the music that inspired them.
