The dense forests of the Latvian-Russian border have become a destination for refugees heading through Eastern Europe into the open borders of the Schengen Zone. Long-term unemployment and an influx of immigrants have created new job opportunities for smugglers known as 'coyotes'. Over the course of three years, this film follows smugglers, refugees and border police: three sides of a hopeless socio-economic triangle.
