The Last Dinner Party recently released their second single ‘Sinner’ The track was written by guitarist Lizzie Mayland, who said: “The story is about my relationship with London and where I grew up, which is a very, very rural small town. It has prejudices and is a bit small-minded socially. “‘Sinner’ is about converting to a place where you feel freer be yourself and express your sexuality, but also long for that place that you were so at home in.â€
It follows their first single, ‘Nothing Matters’, released in April 2023.
The band’s early shows caused a stir, leading them to pick up early supports for Nick Cave, The Rolling Stones and Florence & The Machine (who they supported last month in Cork).
They met while studying at different universities in London and have cited the musical community around London venue The Windmill¸ where they played one of their first shows, as having had a big impact on their development.
