Music inspired by Miguel de Cervantes's epic novel, from Richard Strauss and Roberto Gerhard, plus James MacMillan's Miserere with the ѿý Singers.
Ian Skelly presents a week of Afternoon Concert featuring new recordings by the ѿý performing groups. Today's programme includes two musical interpretations of Miguel de Cervantes's Don Quixote story, including Richard Strauss's tone poem at 3pm with the ѿý Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Plus, the Miserere by James MacMillan performed by the ѿý Singers. Plus a rare chance to hear the Sinfonia in C by English composer Reginald Morris performed by the ѿý Concert Orchestra.
