MarÃa Dueñas plays Vitali's exquisite Chaconne
Chamber music from Radio 3's New Generation Artists: music by Ginastera, Grieg and Vitali, played in recent studio recordings by some of the current young artists.
Chamber music from Radio 3's New Generation Artists: today we hear from four of the current crop of New Generation Artists, in their most recent studio recordings.
Collaboration is one of the exciting and creative elements of the NGA scheme, and we'll hear the fruits of pairing cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia and accordionist Ryan Corbett as they come together in Ginastera's sultry Pampeana No. 2. Tom Borrow plays a short work by Grieg, his Valse-Impromptu Op. 47, and the sequence ends with a stunningly beautiful and hypnotic Chaconne by Tomasi Antonio Vitali, played by violinist MarÃa Dueñas with pianist Julien Quentin.
