Expand your horizons with classical music

Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical music, including music by Clara Schumann, Orlando di Lasso and Augusta Holmès.

Discover hidden musical gems that definitely deserve a spot in your favourites playlist! To open your programme tonight, a delicate duo for flute and harp by Jean Cras, a lesser-known French composer who was also an officer during the First World War. Follows a majestic interlude by Augusta Holmès entitled Night and Love... Indeed, evening romance inspires the entire programme, from a string version of Orlando di Lasso's love declaration My Lovely Lady, to Clara Schumann's lied O Thou My Star. After Rameau's dance of the Hours and Jacquet de La Guerre's lively harpsichord suite, the finale is for Emilie Mayer and her Seventh Symphony, full of brilliance and grandeur.
